Well today is really a very big day (the order depends on your perspective); Maddie turned 4, Mia was sworn in, and our guide Samson (well his wife) had a baby boy!!
More on today in a moment, here is yesterday in a nut shell, the wear and tear of the travel, not sleeping, and almost everyone in the group getting sick finally took its toll on the Meinen's. Melissa spent the afternoon in bed (she is well today, you have to love the Chinese medicine), but the plus side dad got both girls for the day and had a blast. The day also provided the following photos...
The day included a trip to the Pearl Market, and generally more (significantly more) support of the local economy, not that it needs our help. If you think you have seen a few pearls, look a this...
You tell me does a good rest, some Chinese medicine and a new day make a difference here are the girls this morning out for, you guessed it, more shopping.... the question Melissa asked me this morning was "who is going to wear Mia"... she won...
For Maddie's birthday we had a party on our dinner cruise...
Can't have a party without cake...
The Birthday girl had quite a time with her new friends...
So ended the day for our girls...
With any luck tomorrow will be our last day in China and we will be home soon.

the photos are great...and revealing...Mel you look pooped (are you feeling better?)...and Mia just keeps looking happier and happier, and totally at ease...like she's been w/you always. Is she crawling? We've noticed her standing in some of the photos..is she pulling up? How fun that she and Hunter-boo are so near the same age. Maddie's hand on her sister's leg, arm, face...is so sweet. Be sure and give her a birthday squeeze from AK and UR. Her birthday cake looks yummy...and what better beverage to go with it than Budweiser! What are those green torpedo looking things on the table? Can't believe we get to see you in less than 48 hours.

Oh how I hoped to be abe to come to the airport to greet you all, but DH has band practice ( launch band at church, he is the singer) and I have a maaeting at church. I do have a little something for Mia, so hopefully I will se you very soon!
